The big day is here! Anne Rice’s latest installment in her Vampire Chronicles, Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, hits the shelves of bookstores today. If you already pre-ordered it, good for you. If not, what are you waiting for? Get your butt over to your local book shop and grab your copy already!
The first few reviews are starting to appear and so far they’re all unanimously positive:
- Publishers Weekly says, “Initially, the concept of adding aliens to vampires, spirits, and witches is an eye roller, but Rice exhibits tremendous skill in making the impossible seem not only possible but logical.”
- Pop Mythology calls it “a powerful and thought provoking entry in the Vampire Chronicles.”
- iHorror says, “Rice has done what few writers could successfully pull off in Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis. After 40 years and fifteen novels, she completely changed the immortal game, and I, for one, am waiting to see just where the next game piece lands.”
- Dread Central: “I shed more than a few tears over the course of the novel – and philosophical discussions that harken back to Rice’s earlier works and add to their rich tapestry of pondering life’s purpose and meaning, resulting in a more than satisfactory ending that perfectly lays the groundwork for the next installment, which, happily, Rice is currently working on.”
(I’ll update this list of reviews as more are published.)
